Chocolate Cactus Designs | The Chocolate Blog bio picture

well, hello there!

Welcome to the Chocolate Cactus blogsite.  A little of this and a little of that, all rolled into one big ball of goodness.  Here you will be able to read the latest, see recent works and read random babbles all in one place.  You're one lucky duck.

With nine years of design experience and an accomplished marketing background, owner and creative director Jodi Bell prefers a straightforward, personalized approach to her design work. "Everything I design is done with marketing in mind," states this former designer for a Houston-based magazine. It is her philosophy that "Standout designs equal effective marketing". The result is that the marketing and branding process is made infinitely easier for her clients. Jodi's portfolio reveals her love of typography and clean, no-frills designs. It is this that makes her designs standout creations that market themselves.

Chocolate Cactus offers a variety of design work. Jodi's talents include creating complete identities to collateral materials and logo designs. Aside from logos, one of her specialties is custom one-of-a-kind announcements and wedding invitations. Because her clean, fresh designs appeal to a wide variety of industries, her client list includes not only photographers worldwide but also boutiques, auto manufacturers and just about everything in between.

Jodi has a special affinity for her photographer clients, most likely because she's a photographer herself, having won accolades and recognition for her photographic work. A self-professed font queen, Jodi lives in the Houston, Texas area with her husband and four sons. She continues the hunt for clean, fabulous typography...over 3,500 fonts and counting.

So, tell me….

Who are ya? How did you find me?

I’ve been thinking about this (and the awesome blog following I have) and have often wondered how people heard about me. Besides, I see you over there (you know, to the left and down some) – from all over the world – Canada to Egypt (seriously!).

Just post a comment with a quick “Hi!” and how you got here. It would be great to “meet” you all! Let’s see how many people comment. :o )

By the way, the oral surgery went well, I am just very, very sore and look like Mike Tyson and I got into it. Hey, at least I still have my ear. *snork*

Deann B. - I found you through Anne Ruthman's "Photo Lovecat" Photographer's resource. It was a post on graphic design templates for photos. I really liked your work and subscribed to your blog through my rss feed. :)

Holly - Hi! I don't know how I found you. I love your designs. I am not a professional photographer, just a mom with a camera.

Stephanie - Hi! I can't remember where I found you, probably a photographer's blog! I love your designs! I hope to order one day, but right now, Im also just a mom with a good camera!

Cindy - Maybe it was DWF or BluDomain? Don't remember exactly.

mk - I don't really remember either...ILP maybe? But hi anyway. :)

shelley - hello! i think from a forum, but can't recall.

Christie Lacy - A friend pointed me to your site :)

Rebecca - Jodi, I've been trying to contact you for a week and a half through email and ILP, (where your inbox is full). Please email me. Thanks.

Jennifer Mahoney - I found you on ILP, commenting on logos in Biz. I've seen some of your amazing logos that you've made for folks on there and I check in here every once in a while. You are on my list...I hope to be able to get a logo from you some day, I know it will be worth waiting for. :)

Kristen - I think I found you from Brenda Acuncius's blog, but I'm not 100% certain 'cause it's been awhile.
